The year was 2010 – Laurent Ferrier achieved something unprecedented at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, GPHG). The Geneva-based Manufacture was awarded the Best Men’s Watch Award with its first creation – the Galet Classic. It is remarkable, not only because the Galet Classic is the Manufacture’s first timepiece, it is also the very first time this GPHG’s Accolade was awarded to a relative newcomer in the segment of Haute Horlogerie.

Founded in 2008, Laurent Ferrier may appear to be a young brand. However its origin traces deep in the world of watchmaking. The Company’s Co-Founder and Creative Director, Mr. Laurent Ferrier, is a third-generation watchmaker and an industry veteran with decades of experience behind him, most notably his tenure as the creative director at Patek Philippe.

Mr. Ferrier founded his own Manufacture to realise his vision in watchmaking – simplicity, precision, and pure uncluttered beauty. The Galet Annual Calendar and the Galet Square are unmistakable with their subtle aesthetics and technical competence. The latter was even awarded the GPHG Horological Revelation Prize in 2015. With an annual production of only 150 pieces, Laurent Ferrier timepieces continue to revel avid horological collectors and Industry people.
