The limited edition of a new edition of a new edition: with the Jack Heuer Edition of the TAG Heuer Heritage Autavia Calibre Heuer 02, limited to 1932 models, the exclusivity undoubtedly underlines the ambitious heritage, which otherwise often sounds like a mere cry for attention.
The Autavia actually has its origin as an on-board chronograph in early AUTomobiles and airplanes (AVIAtion). It was born in 1932, as you can guess, and the legendary company boss Jack Heuer took it out of the car and onto his wrist in the 1960s. And in 2016, watch fans were able to vote on which Autavia model would be the inspiration for the latest new edition.
If he had not dedicated his life completely to motor sports, Swiss racing driver Jo Siffert would probably be the godfather of the Autavia reference CBE2111.BA0687. He made the original version with a Panda dial (dark sub-dials on a light background) famous and thus also immediately provided the nickname of the watch named after him.
Although this model is available with a leather strap variant, the Autavia also features the Beads of Rice bracelet. The Beads of Rice look may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the bracelet nestles comfortably on the wrist, in a vintage style.
What
makes the current model really special, however, is the Calibre Heuer
02, which comes complete with a full 80 hours of petrol in the tank.
The drive of the technically sophisticated ratchet chronograph is
therefore completely assembled at TAG Heuer. No disadvantage for the
gear control, which aims for a maximum of 8 seconds per day of early
or late arrival.
Even
the initially sceptical Paule can be convinced by this beautiful
piece. You can see what he is particularly enthusiastic about in our
